He brought it to my house last night and let me drive it. I was very impressed. And jealous.
He got the V8 as he had doubts about the Ecoboost’s long-term reliability.
It’s very smooth and pretty damn quick. Averaging 17-4 MPG, better than I thought.

I’ve always liked red on pickups. Nice!

Sport appearance makes every single trim level of the F150 look better imo

It's almost the exact same color as my car. Which is my favorite color. I love bright red.

A few folks in my neighborhood have new ones and they are mighty fine looking. A big improvement over the previous gen in my opinion.

It really does, though I don’t mind the Sport/Chrome pack either on the Lariat. Blue XLT Sport SuperCrew 5.0 4X4 for me though.

Column shifter or poo shifter?

We had a customer bring in an XLT in that same color for leather (Black in a gray-interior truck) and I didn’t realize how RED it was. It looked good and definitely stands out.

Aren't all FISO's poo shifter?

No column shift. It has a huge center console.

I know right. I told him I was so jealous it hurts. Lol

Ford calls it “Race Red.” It’s almost identical to my Mazda’s “True Red.”

Also, my wife’s CX-5 needs leather so badly, it’s pathetic. The tan cloth is not holding up well at all. :(

Looks great! If I were in the market for a pickup right now, I'd definitely go for an F-150.

It is insane just how good new trucks. are. people wonder why the cost so damn much. It’s because they are that good. The big three have all made some HUGE changes since 2008, and the pickup game right now says it all.

They gave my friend $10,000 for his trade (2012 Malibu LTZ V6 with 65k on it) and Ford is offering $10,000 off all XLT models. So he automatically got $20k off haha.

Not bad. Not surprising either. MSRP is a scary thing It’s best to ignore it as it’s a pretty meaningless number when looking at a new truck. MOST of the new Ford I sold in 2012-13 were at least 10k off. MSRP.

sounds identical to how i would do it my friend.

Sweet. I drive them all the time at the dealership, and they’re nice trucks when optioned like that. Good choice on the V8 as well. The Ecoboost is worse, and costs more.

I don’t think he would get much better mpg from the EcoBoost. Cousin of mine has an Ecoboost Flex. He gets 14(!!!) Imperial(!!!) mpg. Or, 11 US mpg.

Where are you located? Here in Charlotte we’d do it with lifetime warranty for $899+Tax = 964.18 for single color leather. We have Sport and Touring kits sitting in our warehouses across the country. In Kentucky you’d have to drive up to Louisville or Bowling Green to find a RW authorized installer.

I love any pickup truck without a massive chrome grill

I’m an hour north of Bowling Green. Actually lived there for two years while going to WKU. I’d love to have that done for my wife but I don’t think we can swing it right now. Oh well.

Yay, 5.0! It just goes better with the character of a pickup truck, if I’m honest.

Your friend has great taste in trucks.
